USGS Water Mission Area will be announcing a vacancy for a GS-13 Supervisory Data Scientist to lead a team of data scientists that specialize in machine learning (ML), data engineering, and model operationalization (MLOps). We are looking for someone with the right combination of technical chops and innovative energy to help drive the team toward success in the development and delivery of ML products. Job Description
1. Leading projects within one or more core set of Data Science branch capabilities: reproducible workflows, data visualization, data science modeling, and/or web analytics.
2. Collaborating with experts in other domains or agencies to develop strategies for improving efficiency, quality, understanding, and accessibility of USGS-WMA science.
3. Develops and implements approaches or software tools that improve delivery, analysis, or modeling of large volumes of structured and unstructured data using modern software languages and methods.
4. Planning the work, establishing work standards, and providing job priorities for the Applied Data Science Team
