As the US Geological Survey's Hydrologic Instrumentation Research and Operations Chief within the Observing Systems Division (OSD) you will develop and manage a new purpose-built facility to support USGS hydrologic instrumentation, research and training.

This position:
Manages, directs, and oversees hydrologic instrumentation testing, research, and training facilities at the new HIF facility and subordinate organizational components.

Oversees research investigating state of the art hydrologic monitoring and observing technologies in collaboration with the University of Alabama - Alabama Water Institute.

Serves as a senior advisor in the development, procurement, and provisioning of scientific instruments supporting water-resources activities on a national and international scale.

Manages and coordinates the planning and conduct of testing, evaluation and quality control in the procurement and development of new instruments to meet the constantly changing needs for hydrologic information.
